ICOMin alaisuudessa toimii 118 kansallista komiteaa, joiden tehtävänä on hoitaa jäsentensä asioita ICOMissa, edistää ja ylläpitää tietoutta Museoeettisistä säännöistä sekä tukea jäsentensä kansainvälistymistä. Kansallisten komiteoiden lisäksi ICOMin alaisuudessa toimii jäsenten muodostamia kansainvälisiä komiteoita, jotka vievät eteenpäin museoalan kehitystä omilla erikoistumisaloillaan. Kaikki ICOMin jäsenet voivat liittyä yhteen tai useampaan kansainväliseen komiteaan. Äänestysoikeus tosin voi olla vain yhdessä komiteassa kerrallaan. Sekä kansallisten että kansainvälisten komiteoiden puheenjohtajat istuvat ICOMin neuvoa-antavassa komiteassa ja osallistuvat ICOM-kattojärjestön päätöksentekoon.

Jos olet jo jäsen ja haluat liittyä kansainväliseen komiteaan, voit tehdä sen täyttämällä hakemuksen ja lähettämällä sen Pariisiin. Uudet jäsenet voivat hakea sekä kansallisen että kansainvälisen komitean jäsenyyttä samalla lomakkeella.
